About Natalie
NATALIE PERSAUD
Masters (Education)
Hi, I’m Natalie Persaud.
I have been in the education sector since 2004 and over the years have developed a passion for supporting colleagues and sharing good practice. It worries me greatly when I see the results of the stress and poor mental well-being of colleagues across all areas of the education sector, which is something I am currently looking into as part of my PhD research with Exeter University.
I am a single mother who understands the pressures of working life and trying to balance all aspects whilst still trying to maintain and improve my teaching practice. I managed to do this successfully when I was a full-time teacher. Let me help you do the same. Let me help you get your life back.
I now enjoy life with my child and spending quality time together as well as getting to enjoy my hobbies such as reading, going to the theatre, films and knitting.
My Experience
Lead by Founder and Managing Director, Natalie Persaud, who has been in the academic and vocational education sector since 2004. She continues to work in Teaching and Quality improvement looking at practice and mental well-being.
Natalie devises, manages, and implements various coaching models, CPD, organises and trains teaching and learning advocates, and helps to revise the institutions’ observation structures and other quality processes. She has been instrumental in driving standards up for a number of institutions. Due to her success, she was invited by Ofsted to participate in the initial training to become an Inspector – one of a very small minority who were not in a senior leadership role at the time to do so!
Natalie has worked with hundreds of teachers and support staff to improve their practice and even secure promotions! Natalie has a wealth of experience teaching a variety of levels, from Pre-entry all the way through to HNC’s, as well as a number of academic and vocational subjects including Psychology, English, and Performing Arts. As well as this, Natalie is also the Principal of a specialist private performing arts academy.
Succedo’s competitors have proven that external training impacts greatly and increases the success and achievement rates of an institution. This may be partly because in-house training may not be taken seriously by staff for a variety of reasons. In-house trainers can be institutionalised and deliver training with pre-conceived ideas and notions of staff members, environment, and policies. They can be too afraid of ‘rocking the boat’ rather than pushing the boundaries in order to drive major ‘out of the box’ thinking. Very few specialists focus entirely on TLA and Quality and how to drive standards up. Those who are, seem to be primarily focused on looking at TLA and Quality from a top-down perspective. As a result, successful initiatives and methods can get buried under paperwork and policies.
Succedo likes to take the bottom-up approach – looking at it from the learners’ and teacher’s perspective to start with and then working upwards. We believe that is the way to drive standards up and impact positively on KPI’s and keep staff workload to a minimum. We at Succedo are still in the education sector, so we understand the vital need for the success of the learner and the impact on the institution.
